RPM'rs Shelly and David Sherfey sell residential real estate locally in the Hudson Valley region of New York, Rockland, Orange amd Westchester Counties. We've been practicing real estate full time since 2001. We market real estate anywhere the English language is spoken.
We work under the umbrella of Keller Williams Realty, presently the third largest real estate company in the US, but more importantly; They allow us, and encourage us, to establish our own
distinct business identity separate from the Keller Williams national brand. After all, it is the agent who does all the work in this business, NOT the company, contrary to what many think. KW likes agents who treat their real estate practice as a business, and we like that.
We are a husband and wife team, with a family that is now out of the house through college, and as a result we now have no family distractions to keep us away from our work…. Prior to going into real estate we both worked elsewhere for 30 years, with much of that time in the corporate world, with customers over our careers from the Beach Boys to Toyota, products from vitamins to concert sound equipment, and we have the work-ethic mentality that goes along with all of that experience.
Skilled in thinking things through completely
Once we learned all that the real estate industry had to teach us, it was clear that there were a few things missing. At some point we made a directional change in our real estate practice, reaching back into our past experience to bring a strong marketing approach into the foreground of what we offer to our sellers. The culmination of that change is what you find on this site. Residential Property Marketing's Words-Eye TOUR websites and the marketing methods, processes, strategies and plans surrounding them are central to how we market and sell residential real estate, adding significant value for sellers as well as buyers.
We are not the low-priced option.
Instead, we are the high value solution who can help you save significant money. As you will read elsewhere on this site, we do a ton of up-front work to present the properties of the sellers we work for in unique ways that substantiate property value and communicate lifestyle to buyers. It is not unusual for us to spend two weeks on a marketing product for a seller. Sellers understanding the value and effect of great marketing seek us out.
The secret of our success
We interview and listen to our sellers. People turning loose of their home speak emotionally about it and we hear what it means to them. We translate this into the values and lifestyle buyers are looking for. We stick to the statistics of the market we are in - we listen to the market and act on it - avoiding the false "opportunities" and staying with the truth. We are also process focused, down to the gnat's eye. There are many layers of real opportunity within the real estate process of attraction - and we exploit it all.
A few of our innovations...
There are none. Seriously! Perhaps we are innovative for the real estate industry, but we didn't invent any of this. We look outside the real estate industry for inspiration on what to do next, but we are just application engineers re-packaging what has worked in other industries into a high value real estate service to our sellers.
As of October 2011, Shelly has decided to move full time to another of her interests over the past several years and will not be a practicing Real Estate Associate Broker any longer. She does remain with RPM working on advertising and website production.
